Default Oil filter leaking...

I'm using the larger Mobil 1 oil filter right now before I was using the correct size, different brand and was doing the same thing. I rubbed fresh oil on the seal before putting it on hand tight. And it still leaks about a drop every 1-2 weeks. I know it's not a lot but it shouldn't leak at all. How am I not getting a good seal? Thanks, Steve.

are you sure there isn't an old gasket stuck to the block? or perhaps some dirt on the sealing surface?

sounds like other have said- a old gasket. Usually when you double gasket it leaks really bad. I would take it off and check for gaskets first.

Ok, thanks. I don't think there's an old gasket but I'll check. Steve
