(56K) NHRA Nationals @ VMP Well I went to my first NHRA event today, which was absolutely incredible. I'm so glad to see VMP back to an NHRA track and I look forward to more events. Nothing like feeling as though your heart is about to get ripped out of your chest.
I got to meet John Force and got his autograph. I've been watching him for as long as I can remember and it was really cool to finally meet him and see him run. And no I didn't see his daughters, so no pics.
Pics aren't the greatest, but I was shooting from the stands with THOUSANDS of people around and I just ran a quick batch process on them since there were so many.

He went 4.84 on this run.
I was amazed that I could pan a car that passed me doing 200+MPH

i was stationed there for two years and use to do some racing over there.
i like the track. i went to the ihra nationals in 04, 05 and had a blast.
just wish i could have went to the nhra event.

Yeah I've been to the IHRA events for a while now, but the track didn't turn back into an NHRA track until this year and man am I glad. Was your avatar taken @ VMP? It looks like it. I have many shots from the wall right there and that background just looks VERY familiar.

You got some nice shots man. Looks like you had fun. I went to my first NHRA event this summer too..the nationals at Englishtown. It was so incredible.. Force is looking pretty clean in those shots..no dirty fire suit

I was there on saturday there was some good racing. I left before the end didnt want to get stuck in traffic. I was crazy though its like getting punched in the chest when they drive by you. My jaw hit the ground when I first saw them. Great shots too by the way.
