Default z06 intake, heads, and cam swap into ls1

Wondering if anybody has done the swap and if there was much power difference. I own a 98 trans am, and will be adding ls6 heads, cam , intake out of my body's 2002 z06.

you will get a big power increase with the heads and intake mainifold, but if i were you i would go with a bigger cam since you will have the cam out anyway.

The LS6 intake is good, but if I went H/c, personally I'd go for the 90/90 since it makes a huge gain over the LS6 intake with any aftermarket H/C set-up.

As for the LS6 H/C, there are much better out there. But since you are getting them from a buddy then it is probably an unbeatable price.

there aren't huge gains from a ls6 to a fast 90 with a stock cubed motor. maybe a few hp. there are a lot of threads on this.

I agree with michaelsvt03, install the intake and the heads and find a little more aggressive cam and you would see a pretty solid HP/TQ gain!

Good Luck!

That is incorrect.

Read the results of this testing done by Brian Tooley.

I read the dyno section all of the time, and H/C 346's pick up 15-25 with 90/90 over LS6 and ported TB consistently.

the only way fast 90/90 is worth it is if you are going with some bomb *** ported heads... anything else the choke point is the heads not the LS6 intake...

i do agree though that the ls6 intake is the choke point for a good set of ported heads

I'm doing almost the same thing. In a few days I can let you know how the ls6 intake and heads work with a 220/220 cam. I was considering doing the same as you but figured I'd go bigger anyway while it's all apart. I had the intake already and noticed a nice gain. I'm also adding some longtubes into the rebuild. So we'll see how it goes.
