Default All of a sudden... Eating oil & smoking! HELP!

I know this makes no sense, but as soon as the headers wen't on the car it started smoking at WOT and using oil, before it never used a drop, now 1,000 miles after headers it's down 1 qt or so! never smoked either, not it blows out at WOT a light blueish colored smoke! the car is a '99 SS A4 with 55,000 miles on it, are my rings gone? I did the PVC upgrade and it did nothing! what do I do now? I keep hearing "the rings are gone" I was quoted $3,000+ to replace the rings (over the phone by a LS1 shop) I need HELP! any ideas?

I just don't see why the headers seemed to have started the whole process? anyone have any info on how to do the catch can mod?

thats got to suck to have a new car that smokes like that. Ive seen the ls1 go from no smoke to a smoke factory with just a few mods. And im talking about huge clouds that follow the car. I hope u get it fixed.

I just wan't to try the small things before I go out and blow $3,000+ on rings, if I did that and it still smoked I would be

Here ia a pic of it blowing a puff of smoke at launch! it then goes away and starts back up (much worse) when it gets into the high RPM's, when it shifts it goes away for a couple of seconds then back once the RPM's get up!

I will give it a try! my car smokes a lot worse than the pic shows, the smoke at WOT in the higher RPM's can be seen just above the rear wing when looking in my rear view mirror at WOT, I just wished I know why headers caused me to start using so much oil?

I just went to the local marine boat shop and picked up a fuel/water seperator kit for a boat..should work awesome!!...very nice peice and should work well...kinda expensive but not too bad $29.99 but it's sweet lol...comes with an oil filter as the catch can and it matches up to a fram oil filter its a fairly large filter so i expect it should last a good while before having to empty it..here is the kit for us lazy people..just bolt it on and go! later,

carter

Has anyone tried the GReddy catch can? is it a bolt on mod or do you still have to modify it?
