Default 97 Ws6 Into 93 T/a

Over the weekend I picked up a 97 WS6 LT1 for $500, less injection. It has the 561 casting heads which I have been told are not as good as the earlier castings for performace use. The motor has 61,000 on it and has what seems to have alittle more power than my 93, are there any differences between the motors? I plan on building the you know what out of it while it is still on the ground for next racing season, then make the swap so I dont have to put the car down. My question is did I get a good deal for the motor? And will this motor swap over with the 93 setup I have now? And will the 561 castings support the power of a cc306. Which heads should I have ported and polished? THANKS.

The 561's flow a little bit more but the 643's are better for porting. The 97 has a vented opti and crank sensor in the timing cover. It will all work fine in the 93 as you don't need the crank sensor anyway.
