Default SOB! I lost my wallet! Need some info.

Ok...I'm taking the day off tomorrow to go get a new license and social security card. Am I able to change my SS number? I mean...of course I could get a new card with the same number, but if someone out there has it, then what good is it having a new one? They could be out there using it and stealing my identity. If so, what's the cost and wait time? Where the hell do I even go? I'm freaking out right now and just wanted to get a quick answer so that I know what to do tomorrow when I get up.

What about my license? Am I able to change that number?

I just got off with the phone with governator Arnold.

He is going to stop by your house later with a balloon delivery and change your identity.

Haha real funny. What I mean is they could be using my social security to open accounts and whatnot. They have my full name and SS. That goes a long way. What the hell is your problem? What if your wallet was lost?

You need to Put a Fraud Alert on your Numbers !!! I dont think you can change your SSN or DLN... But you can put an Alert on your Numbers. You need to call
Equifax 800-525-6285
Experian 888-397-3742
Trans Union Corp 800-680-7289
My Friends mom lost her Purse and Put an Alert out, and she was called when someone apllied for a loan in her name and the Lady was Arrested at the Bank. Hope this Helps...

If I lost my wallet I wouldn't care because I don't carry a wallet and I don't keep my social security card in there like I've been told my whole life.

All you can do is go to DMV and get a new liscense, cancel your credit cards and have them issue new ones.

Alert your bank and credit card companies about what happened.

It's really not that big of a deal. There are plenty of ways for malicious people to get SSN's if they really want them.

Take 2, thanks for being the first to take me serious. I've never had this happen, so I didn't know how to take it or what to do.

Arachnotron, thanks for the link.

5w20, another smartass.

04 Terminator, well I don't see why you don't carry a wallet, but that's your business. But I do, because I keep everything in there. ID, credit cards, SS, other member cards, insurance, etc. Thanks for getting on a serious note, the other BS wasn't really necessary.

I've already cancelled my credit cards and have new ones coming.

I don't see why you need ss card in your wallet. The only time you could use it is if you get a new job, and thats not even require.... So there's really no point in having it somewhere you could lose it. I personally don't even have my card. there is no use for it and if you don't know the number, than your just not older enough yet to use it anyways..But the point is being made is that its not a big deal seeing as any body could get your SS number anyways with the right amount of money and knowledge...welcome to the 21st century..enjoy...

I will tell you this. Before you go and notify all of your creditors you may be facing idenity fraud. Make damn sure someone else has your wallet and you didn't just lose it. I mean your life will become a living hell if you have to do that. For instance, a girl's mom I dated had there house broke into. Everything finicial was stolen. So they notify all of their creditors that someone may try to use their information ileagly. Fast foward 5 years. She is paying 1800 dollars for a new transmission on a credit card. She has plenty of her credit line left. They (credit card company)deny the transaction. She has to call and get it to be approved over the phone. Pain in *** crap like that will follow you. You wanna write a check at walmart. They may deny or you may have to show multiple forms of id. You cannot change you SS #. I dont know if Texas will allow you to change DL #. I lose my **** all the time. And it really stresses me out. But I never carry a ss card. Only DL, CC, and some cash. Good luck I hope you dont end up like one of those credit card company's commercials with the voice overs.

If you didn't file a police report I would HIGHLY RECOMENED IT!!
My friend got his wallet stolen from his car the only thing he did was call his bank, then he gets a warrant for two bad checks and he can't do **** about it cuz he didn't file a police report.

I bought these new shoes... How do you put the laces in? I got the white laces, should I have gotten blue instead? My shoes are Nike, but I think the Reebock might have been better. Should I return these and get the Reebocks?
