Not letting Weld off the hook, but looks like heavy truck plus too much neg offset? (backspacing) All the load looks like it's in the outer part of that wheel? Just my .02?

Yes, ProStars are evil. At least one of you guys needs to sell me your 15x10s or 15x8s immediately and upgrade to something safer.

I've got cash in hand folks, rid yourself of the risk immediately.

heh, the date on theose wheels were 2000.

I agree on the backspace being part of the problem but after the first one cracked I would have maybe tried a different set of wheels lol.

racing wheels werent made to turn. The aluminum can get tired and break. Like any racing wheel. Also if the front end of your car weighs as much as that truck it is time for some weight mods

there 6 yrs old, why would they have to do anything?

thats the first time i've ever seen or heard of anyone doing that to a pro star..lol.. my father drives on them all the time with his 4k lbs cars and never had an issue over the last 15 yrs.. there has to be more to that story then the wheel all of a sudden just split apart

my rear prostars are from 99... I think I might start pulling all 4 off monthly to check for cracks.

Wouldn't hurt anyhow

He has no right to bitch. The damn wheels are clearly described as race wheels only. NOT INTENTED FOR STREET USE!

Thank you for saying that....they're definitely a "use at your own risk" type of wheel on the street. I ran them on a daily driver '88 Camaro I once owned for about four years, and at least two of them were slightly bent when I traded it. Sliding off the road at 70 mph and doing a couple of 360's in wet grass probably didn't help much

heh, where does it say that, any pro-star over 4" wide is marked street legal.

Look on the busted out center, it says STREET LEGAL right on it lol.

Either way they are six years old and mounted on a friggin land yacht, who knows what they have been through in the last six years. Unfortunate yes, but if I shot myself in the leg putting a 'defective' gun in my holster and two months later did the same thing with the same gun I would be way dumber then the defective gun

That's why in the center section of the stars say "street legal"?

I may be wrong, but i think the only "drag race use only" prostars/draglites are the 4" or lower width rims..

Okay here we go again. There is a difference between STREET LEGAL and NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE! A friend of mine got bust driving et steets on the street and got a ticket for illegal tires, "but it says it is dot approved".

I had bought 6 prostar wheels from weld (2) 15x3.5 and (4) 15X10. On every box they came in, it said and I repeat "NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE" They are not built with the durability for daily driving street use. The constent heating up and cooling of the wheel, effects the wheel and can cause damage like viewed in this forum. It has happened to bogarts as well. I drove on the street with prostars. I drove with 3.5 in the front and had 2 sets of 10inch on the rears (street and a strip set). I drove on 200mile road trips with them. But my car is no where near a DD. These wheel are not built with the integrity (sp?) that a NONdrag wheel is made with. The weather, road conditions, and heat are a back breaker for these wheels!
