if you are on radial street tires there is no need to do a burnout, just spin them a little to clean the crap off of them.

and its gonna take some experimenting with your launch, alot depends on how sticky the track is.

your best bet's going to be by riding the clutch at a higher rpm until your gear is fully engaged. I'd start at 4k - 4.5k

just clean them with a tiny burnout and step on the line and step on the brakes and raise the rpm at 1500 rpm.

I shift it manually starting with first gear till 3rd gear and dont shift to overdrive if u dont have gears.

i have always heard nto to shift an auto manually because its both hard on the tranny and also slower shifts=slower time just my .02

it seems to work with me on my old 98 A4 very fine and had better times with manually shifting it.

putting it in 3rd gear all the way to the finish line is another way to do it to.

Here's some advice I got from a buddy on launching the A4's

Launch in 1, because it has not only the 1st gear clutches but the manual clutches engaged, helps the tranny hold up. Immediately after the launch pop it into D
