Default HVAC question

Is it necessary to remove the entire dash to pull the heater and evap? I have the clove comp. tray removed right now and it looks like I need some more room. Also is there any thing I need to avoid to keep the airbag from coming out? I am planning on removing the module that sits on the driveshaft tunnel soon.

disconnect the battery. then it can't send a signal nor power the airbag itself.

You don't have to pull the dash out, but you will need to undue all bolts holding it down, pull it out and lean it forward. Don't forget to undue the steering column

You don't have to pull it out but it will make your life so much easier if you do.

i pulled my dash out. Get a buddy and just take your time and it all come out pretty easy. I didnt break anything besides the big dash panal under the windshield. Other wise its pretty frickin easy IMO. Like i said, get a buddy and take your time and should take about 2-3 hours and itll all be out. Dont get scared. And if you notice, go to Menards/Home Depot and get some aluminum tape. thats what i used to cover some firewall holes. It holds it shape around curves and seals up things real good.
