Northwest Members - Anyone know how long a car lot has to "deliver" a purchased vehicle?

I wont even go into the nightmare buying this car has been, but where we are now is that my husband signed the contract on a car at Eastside Chrysler/Jeep on Sunday ... but the car was not ready to go, so they gave him a "loaner" off the lot and promised the car would be delivered to him in Ellensburg the next day. Here we sit, it is Wednesday, and we still have the loaner and the jackass who he worked with is still saying "tomorrow" (if you knew how many times in this process we had heard that from him ...) By deliver, I mean give the damn thing to us :judge:

Gosh I don't know, but I would be taking a day off and making a "special" trip!

Yeah, well, he is planning on heading over there tonight after he gets off work (something neither of us is pleased about). I can't say enough bad things about that place and the guy we were working with. Perhaps when we finally have the stupid car I will tell all ... I have an overwhelming desire to smear their names all over the internet!

That sucks. I would think that 3 days would be more than enough time to get a car ready. It's cool that they gave you a loaner car though...Just hope they don't beat up on your car while they've still got it...

Lord only knows. The truely idiotic thing is, they have a lot in Ellensburg!! It isn't like they have no reason to go there or anything ...

The loaner IS nice (really nice) but we just want to be done with this place ... they have got to be the worst business I have ever dealt with!

What kind of vehicle are you waiting for?

I would take it up with his boss! The manager there should be able to put a boot up his ass.

Is this a new or used vehicle? One thing to remember if it's new is that Chrysler/Jeep will send you a survey on your purchase which the dealer is rated on and that also ends up effecting the saleperson's bonuses.

It is a Monte Carlo, can't remember the year, but it isn't new. I have sent several e-mails ... boot is firmly in ass, the ass just isn't moving. You would think they would want their loaner back ... it is a beautiful '05 Sebring!

I think Tom said it's a 2000.

Its an 04. I really don't care for it, but what can you do, its ours now. Would have loved to go somewhere else, but this jerk backed us into a corner ... we are refinancing the house and could not have another credit check, plus he was promising what we really wanted, a Dakota, and said it was a done deal, then sold the damn thing when Tom was litterally on his way over. For the record, Jason Goodall at Eastside is the biggest jerk and swindler there is. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional, lying POS.

I asked my general manager he said with the Bushing (spelling??) law a dealer has 3 days from the date you sign the docs to deliver the car,
I think this applies rleated to finiancing a vehicle

now if they call and say they are having challenges with financing that buys them another 3 days
So if its been 3 days I'd go tell to ?themselves and get my money back.

To add to what Moria said: The VIN on the car you actually purchased *must* be delivered within 3 days.

If there is either no VIN listed on the sales contract or it is different than the one on the vehicle you do get - you have the ability to reject the entire deal NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU (or threaten, which they do).

The actual law states that "at the time of purchase" the VIN of the vehicle listed on the purchase contract has to be verified to the vehicle available for purchase. If that cannot be established then you have bought a "phantom" vehicle and the contract is not valid at any point.

**Brought to you by Peter Maier, the guy who got Washington the lemmon law and others against car dealerships.

Forgot to add: Mr Maier also said there is a specific document of "disclosure" you sign when you buy a vehicle. Most rarely present it to you, can't remember what it is (something about GM's finance and purchase details) and has to be presented when you sign for the vehicle with the matching VIN.

Hope it helps. If you really don't want to deal with these guys and prefer to buy somewhere else Peter Maier is who you would talk to, stuff like this he just tells you over the phone with no consultation fee.

That really sucks. I am sorry you are having such a hastle over this car. I hope it is worth it once you do take delivery. I know I will never go to that dealership no matter what after reading this.

So did you guys get your car yet?

Yes, Tom drove to Bothell Wednesday night after work to get it - he had to go to the bozo's house to get it, since it was about midnight. He did not have much choice since the "permission slip" for the loaner was expired (it is a fellony to have the car without current permission).

It is a nice car ... for an old man car lol Never thought I would say I miss the Durango, but it at least had button adjustment for the seat ... I barely remember how to adjust a seat with pull things and knobs!
