how many pennies in 1 million dollars? my fiance thinks that if she puts a penny in a jar and every day she doubles whats in the jar every day that you will have 1million in a month. thats 100million pennies right?

haha...well she heard it from someone at work....i did the math...if you double it every day for 31 days it actually comes out to 1,073,741,824 pennies which divided by 100 (# of pennies in 1 USD) 536,870,912 this is all provided my math is correct.... but i'm no math major...

Yea working it in excel i get that 1 mil is made on the 28th day. That's assuming you put 1 penny in the first day and double it the second and add another penny (so second day you'd have double the first (2 pennies) + another penny, so 3 pennies total).
I get a total of 10.8 mil after a month

i worked it in excel too....had to brake out some old school formulas to figure that **** out.... i never use spreadsheets anymore...
will, you are doing it wrong. its 1 penny day 1, 2 day 2 4day 3 etc...

haha if you got a dollar every day you were alive you wouldnt even get a million dollars. youd get in the low to mid hundred thousands. i did the math on it about 2 years ago so i dont remember how many years a million days was
