will a 97 long block work in a 95? please help

Default will a 97 long block work in a 95? please help

I just found a 97 long block for sale that i want to use to replace my locked up engine in my 1995 camaro 6 speed. I know that the 97 was obdII and my car is obdI but couldnt i still use the longblock if i keep my intake and exhaust manifolds? What else would i need to do to get this to work if it can. Thanks alot guys i need to go pick this up tommorow!

either than that it should work.

yes sir will work like a charm, and 95 is kinda the bastard year with some obdII stuff goin on but none the less it will work

It is in place of one of the two block drain plugs, on the passenger side of the block.

Yep, a $5 OBDII-style connector separates it from the '94 OBD1 system. That is the ONLY difference from OBD1 (though the dual-cat Y-pipes were there on some 95s, there were no rear O2 sensors).

To put a 97 in a 95, as was mentioned, use the 95 knock sensor, and hopefully they left the crank position sensor in the timing cover. If they didn't, just plug the hole somehow.
