Default Roller Rockers & Lifters

Well, in addition to the $2600 for heads and 224 Comp cam, Rollmaster double roller chain, ARP bolts and Manley pushrods I just unloaded $1130 for oil pump, water pump, gaskets, hoses, seals, and few other internal engine parts to replace when I finish the swap out.

Question 1 - Are roller rockers worth the money or should I just replace my existing ones with a new set of factory rocker arms? Not sure about moving my old rockers onto the new heads.

Question 2 - Thinking about replacing all the hydraulic lifters while I'm in there. Is it necessary or just a waste of $$. With 83K miles on the engine I was thinking about maintenance items to hit while I'm in the engine

Appreciate your time and suggestions.

Thanks

i would definately change the lifters with 83000 miles. but as far as the rockers you can get a good set for 400 but i just used the stockers for now.

Not sure what Comp Cams says regarding their cams, but many manufacturers with steep ramp profiles caution against using 1.85 rockers with their cams.

Lifters + YES They are cheap and easy to do with the heads off.

Rockers - send out the stockers to Harland Sharp and have them rebuilt for 225 and don't look back.

Buy a set of Morel hyd rollers from one of the board sponsors and you never have to buy another set of lifters.
