Default Engine stuff..

I am seeing how this will affect my Engine. I know it will be a gain, I am wonderin what your guy's inputs are.
I bought Forged Pistons and Forged Rods for the new Motor I am putting together. I had to get the whole Rotating Assembly balanced due to some differences in weight. They Balanced the Crank, Pistons(with Rings), Rods, and Flexplate. I had to spend $200 dollars that I wasn't planning on basically. It's just a 350, so what will I expect. I know that it will be running smoother..

you can expect for it to be harder to break a rod or piston, you can spray the hell out of it.

I am trying to figure out how the Engine will perform basically, as far as response and RPM movement. Some people said it will be slower, but I see it about the same, if not faster seeing how it will be balanced.

Your new rotationg assy is probably heavier than the stock assy. I see too that it will be harder to break. You might get a few more RPMs out of it since it is balanced and forged. If you are asking about more HP or Torque, I don't see any unless U went to domed pistons or strocker.

That thing will rev up and down like you wouldn't believe. You'll love it. My friend had a 70 Dart Swinger 340 that was fully balanced. It was awesome! I'd love to have a balanced motor myself :\

Guess I got a good gain then.. I didn't really feel like spending the $200 on top of that. I have been dropping money quick on that new motor.

Cool. I shift at 6100, so I guess it will get to it a little quicker and easier..

Oh you'll go higher than 6100. You might even get 7K if you don't float the valves or run out of the upper ends powerband LOL

The Cam stops building at 6100 area, so we shift it there. With the Heads ported a little, it might go a bit higher, but I am leaving it there.

I shift at 6500 bro, Hotcam with 4L60E gets the best results at that, and I'm not talking out of my ***, a Guru told me that, and that where my car will shift.

If it stops building power and droping off at 6100, don't you wanna shift at atleast 6300-6400? See, if you shift right at the peak, it drops it to right below the peak torque, which isn't the best idea. I forget where I was reading this, but you do wanna shift a bit above the hp peak.

But don't take my work for it, I urge you to shift it at 6100, then shift it at 6400 into 2nd, and about 6300 into 3rd and see which run gives you the best ET.

I want to get it back into the torque as much as possible. That tops at around 3800, and slowly drops.
