quick 411 on a 6al box

quick 411 on a 6al box my buddy had nothing but headachs when tryin to hook one up on his notch. Just got mine tonight. Theres 2 pairs of wires on the one side. Then a black (ground) and red (power). Then on the back side theres a plug for something. What wires are what and where do they go? Pics would help a lot also. Thanks guys

no, im good with wiring if i know what goes where. Its my buddys whos a retard. And do i need to hook this box up with a resister or what? I hear there pretty touchy if you do it wrong.
