Default Looks like I am done for the Season!

Last night I thought I would take the RAT out to the Creek & get some pass's in with the good weather we are having, Well 2nd pass down the track the car falls on its face mid track WOT, Starts shaking violently & feels like it is running on 6 cyc, The oil pressure was holding at 40 psi, But the car was having a hard time ildling & wanted to die out,

I am pretty sure it's a rod, Going to save up over this winter & spring & go with a 408 Iron Block, Couple of questions

1 Can I use my Hooker Long Tube Headers from my 346?

2 Will my Stage II Phoniex 4L60E Trans hold the power of a 408? If not what trans do you suggest for a weekend warrior that is driven on the street on the weekends?

3.How much am I looking at to step up to this setup & be reliable at the track & on the street,

4.Will my EWP & front Assc transfer over to the 408?

I have stock Cleaned up LS1 Heads & figure I will just step up to some LS6 Heads & 90/90 set up since I am going to be running this big of a motor.

Thanks Guys

Headers, EWP and accessories will work fine. Nice 408 will be around $3600-4000. The trans is always Russian Roulette.

I would keep your LS6 intake or whatever and spend that 90/90 money on some better heads. A set of ported PRC's or something would do alot more good than a FAST manifold.

Remember, you'll also need to get a bigger cam with a new timing chain/oil pump.

You'll also need a new fuelpump and injectors as well.

Seb...pick up the heads you were discussing with someone in pm's. It would do you good, trust me same things that are on my car. Tear down your motor a lil and check everythin you can before thinking the whole motor is toast.
