By ram-air hood, I assume you mean the Firehawk ram-air intake not the SS cold air intake, right?

I have the K&N cold air intake and filter on mine. I much prefer it over the previous SS intake.

I had the OTVC kit on my old motor, looked great and never had a burnt wire.

otvc wires are a lifesaver if you have headers. makes it much less painful.

V8 FC, you can get these intakes from SLP on their website, or probably from a member here that changed out one. You will need the SS hood though for it to fit.

As for using the LS1 intake setup, I haven't come across to many people with them. I'm pretty sure you need to have the firehawk ramair hood (firebirds) or the Ultra-Z hood (camaros) for it to fit. I'm not completely sold on the Ultra-Z hood enough to make the switch although I DO like that LS1 intake setup.

I have seen no hard proof that a Airlid used on a LT1, is any better then a stock Ram Air type hood, or a regular CAI. Although i love the way it looks. A regular CAI would suffice.

I had a 1994 z28, if I put a SS hood on it, Iwould forgo the air box and just keep my K&N CAI. The WS6 ramair is in my opinion better then the SS setup
