Default weird headlight problems, newbie plese help.......

hi, i seen quite a few threads about headlight problems. but nothing about what i have encountered, can i get some help please. 1. passenger headlamp cover dosnt go up. 2. with cover manually lifted and lights on. regular headlights are on, but passenger is dimmer than drivers side. also in this mode the brights are on, but very dim. so all four lights in the regular mode are on!. 3 when i turn the brights on, only the drivers side lights come on! nothing at all on the passenger side! can anyone please let me know what to do. i already have purchased a new motor for the passenger side. but i have a feeling that this is not my problem. any help here would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much................

There is a large sticky in the Pontiac Firebird forum on headlight problems. Post your question in there as there are several knowledgeable folks who check the thread often. They should be able to help you in some way (if you don't see your answer in the thread already)

Here's a link to it: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-firebird-1967-2002/177470-firebird-headlights-all-comments-questions-regarding-headlights-go-here.html

before i pull the headlight motor out. can i get more info about the ground. is it part of the hareness on the new motor? or is it a wire that i will see once i have the cover off and pull the motor. i just want to make sure about this before i start taking things apart. ive read a bunch of threads but never seen anything about the ground wire. thanks so much, i really appreciate all the input recieved.

follow the wires back from the headlights and you will find the connector. i just scraped on the connections and wiggled wires around(corrosion maybe). anyways it started working. the motor is still not working though. it is stripped got the grind and everything.i would suggest not taking the motor off until youexactly what your doing

thanks for the help. got everything working properly. took off the bezel that covers the lights. checked the connector and it looked fine. wires were a twisted though. so i straightened these out. after i did this i decided to check out if anything was different. sure enough! everything worked perfect! lights were fine, lid opened and closed no problem. unbelievable! after nearly two years of these problems it was only the wires.......... thanks again!
