just a plastic tank.. May have to trim the tube where you fill it up.. it sticks out a little more. I have a plastic in my 98.. About to take it out and put in a drag sumped tank.. I would be willing to sell mine.

It's not a significant weight difference. The main reason I did it was to complete my 98 upgrade project. I pulled the pump and retrofitted it with a Racetronix setup. The sending unit is different. The calibration in the Operating system is different. I changed out my PCM and instrument cluster as well. Other than that, the wires and fuel lines all hooked up with no extra fuss or parts. Maybe some of these other 98 guys who have just done the tank can chime in...I'd be curious to find out if their fuel gages are working right? Anybody care to share?

The point of my upgrade was to take my 1998 street/strip H/C car and run an EFI Live Custom Operating Sytem. As I am sure you know Nate, (but others may not) in order to run an EFI Live Custom Operating System (COS #5 which has benefits for NO2) I had to do a PCM wiring upgrade, and PCM swap. As the process progressed it became obvious that I would want to upgrade the fuel system to be safe with the NO2 setup. There are many ways to achieve this. My empahsis on this car/project was/is to push the car to it's limits on the strip while still maintaining the "spirit" of the stock/streetable setup that it has always had. Economically speaking, finding a 99+up tank w/ accesories for 100 + Racetronix upgrade made sense for me. Everything as far as the tank/ Racetronix setup goes, it was plug and play and very simple. I hope this helps explain better.

i did my swap because i screwed up the tank when i did the fuel pump swap for the first time.....i cracked the plastic in the metal filler tube while trying to get the tank out.....i was under the impression, as a few people still seem to be, that this was a straightfoward swap so i bough the plastic tank......i ended up having stenods do it when they did my engine replacement, it works fine and the gauge is accurate....
