Default LS1 Fuel Rail Covers

I own a 98 Trans Am with the LS1 and I was wondering if there is a pair out there that will fit 98 LS1's? I found a corvette pair BLACK 97-98 that had 2 slots for the fuel lines I think. Would I get that pair? Or the other pair that just has one slot for the fuel line? I dont know which one to get. Either one I get, Im gonna have to cut it, wont I?

they have to be cut and notched. dont buy them that are for the corvette. buy them from after thoughs auto, theyre a sponsor, theyre precut and they will make them any way you want them

Why might I ask? You can buy them used for $40 and take an hour cutting them instead of paying $200+ from afterthoughts auto?

I'm sure if a 16 year old can bring a car back from the dead this guy can cut them properly! All of the ones that afterthoughts.com uses use to say Corvette, they were filled in then sold for $200. For the difference in price this guy could get his properly filled and painted

I bought a set of uncut ones, then cut them to fit, then cut some more, then had to move and cut some other things to make them fit. Trying to get them in there a few times I was tired of them already. Is easy to cut them, but I decided to skip them. I really want a billet cover I seen at JEG's minus the jeg's logo, but I want to see them on a car first.

Dude it's incredibly easy and it doesn't take any skill at all. A 10 year old can cut over the lines

don't pay for the afterthoughts auto ones..not worth it IMO. just do it yourself, afterthoughts is an awsome company, but you can do this yourself.

Alright, but still, nobody answered my question. Do I get the pair that has one slot or two slots on the driver side cover?

To answer your question, you need the 1997-1998 model year covers that have the 2 fuel line slits in them. You will also need to make various other cuts to make them fit. Now, to the people on hear constantly bashing Afterthoughts Auto for charging $200 for "CUSTOM" fuel rail covers compared to your $40 for FRCs off GMPartsDirect, ARE YOU SERIOUS?????????????

The covers from AA are not only cut to fit, but are custom finished in any color you want, the crappy *** "CORVETTE" lettering is filled in and smoothed over, the 5.7L/stripes are highlighted in a color and you can get any lettering/emblems you want. Brian2006, you seem to be the one leading this bandwagon, so could we please seen your $40 covers(plus the $20 you paid for shipping)? and then compare them to these:

This is what's available from Afterthoughts Auto. If you think there's any comparison to what you have for $40, you're out of your mind!! I want to see you do the work require to take them from what you have to what these are and then tell me they aren't worth another $150-$175.

I cut mine by myself. I just pruchased a template and cut it out. I plan on making some covers like above in the future and found a write up. http://www.evlls1.com/fuelrailcovers.html
