Default How much should I mill my heads?

The search isnt working to great and when it did I really couldnt help find an answer.

I am rebuilding a 98 block/heads. I just got done hand porting the heads and am going to send them out to get milled. I am a little worried about PtV clearance.

Stock never been milled heads
Stock valves
-4cc Flycut Pistons
Futral F14 cam 232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA
.042 compressed headgaskets

I am thinking I should take .030 off the heads. Does that seem a bit much? I am shooting for stock compression to help make up for the flycut pistons. I also need a hand using Pat Kelly's compression calculator. I just want you guys to look it over so I do it right the first time around. Thanks in advance guys!

.030 would probably be good for about 10.7-8:1 CR with that Futral cam. What kind of gaskets are you planning on using?

Might want to take a look at this> https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....2&postcount=41

I think that if you mill .040 you'll be at 11:1 static compression. I'm going off of memory so you'll wanna double check my math. That does't account for the -4cc in the pistons though.

I am going to be using Mr gasket .042" compressed headgaskets. I am worried about PtV clearance more than anything else but still want to have the correct compression. I think I should be ok .030 on the mill job since its slightly smaller than a MS3 and people clear with stock heads. As long as I can clear with -4cc pistons, F14 cam and .042" gaskets I'll be happy. Milling is the last thing I need to do before the heads go back on. Thanks guys!
