Default Guys running Iron Block LSX setups.. What #lb springs up front??

My car had an aluminum motor in it at one time and I believe it has the QA1 275lb springs up front. I just put in my Iron Block 408 and the front end sits LOW as hell and its VERY loose up front. The coil overs are about 85% of the way up already. My headers/ypipe are about 3 inches off the ground and scrape on everything, but I can live with that since its mainly a track car. My front bumper is right at 5 inches off the ground now. It could stand to be raised up just a little bit, but I think it looks good where it is. The main problem is the looseness up front which I think is gonna cause problems at the track out of the hole and really tear up some stuff like my oil pan, headers, trans pan, etc if I'm not careful. Right now I can hammer it on the street and let off only to hear/feel my headers hit the pavement. I can adjust the shocks, but I don't think thats gonna fix all of the looseness since the springs are probably over loaded and I don't want to tighten the shocks up too much cause that will hurt the track performance.

So, should I go with the 300lb springs or the 325lb springs? Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

Are the shocks adjustable? I have a 408 iron block in my TA, the springs are adjusted pretty high but the ride height is good. I just adjust the shocks at the track, takes a minute.

I added around 80 lbs to the front of my car with the Incon Twin Turbo system. The stock springs are around 290lbs and let the tires hit the inner fender liner some with the added turbo weight.

I put the 325lb springs on and they work great.

I ran the 300s with an iron block but that was a 3200lb raceweight z28. All depends how much stuff you still have up front. This car has 275s and thay are cranked up as far as they can go and it sits pretty low. They work fine at the track but the car sits too low for daily driving use thats for sure, I just never got around to swapping them to heavier springs..

I am using the stock SS springs. I am not sure what the rating is on them, but they seem to be working OK for me.

My car is pretty light up front.. Full BMR suspension, QA1's, Aerospace brakes, no power steering, no a/c, no heat, bumper fillers/braces, etc etc. It does have a small fuel cell mounted up front with an electric pump for my nitrous and a vacuum pump, but no other accessories besides the alternator.

My front tires are rubbing the inner fender well when I get on the brakes hard and the passenger side tire actually rubbed a hole in the wheel well this past Sunday when we were tuning the car.. So I definately have to do something about this.. I think the 300lb springs would do the trick, so I'm gonna give em a try soon..

Thanks for all the replies fellas!

My LT1 car is sitting on 300# springs right now. They are a little light for the heavy front end of this car. I have about 1 1/2" left of upward adjustment and its LOWW. I couldnt even get the jack out from under the car untill they were adjusted this high. The jack just barely clears the k-member.
Currently the front end is a bit heavier than stock due to the stock k-member, a-arms, and the added weight of the Procharger.
Im pulling all the A/C stuff this week to help offset the added weight a bit.

Yeah I can't even get the jack under my car without lifting up on the front fender first and even then it still won't go under the subframe connector. But, it works pretty good at the track so far so I'm gonna hold out a little longer before I change them out.

LOL, must have went to steele, mine was rubbing so bad there was melted plastic stuck to the side of the car from the tire rubbing the inner fender when I ran there last. Thats a rough track on low cars if you run 1/4 mile
