Where did LS1Tech come from?
I'm curious about the history behind this site. How old is it, what was the motivation to start it, how did it get to be so much bigger than any of the other LS1-based forums?

We all used to hang out at LS1.com, and it was constantly down/slow because probably 90% of its traffic was in the AAG (almost anything goes) forum. The technical part of the site became secondary to the "look at this huge zit" posts. Despite repeated requests from long time and active members, they wouldn't get rid of AAG or otherwise address the diminished performance of the site, so PSJ, NineBall, and Colonel started this site. All the "techies" came over here, we needed a place that was geared towards tech stuff first, with some silliness thrown in, not the other way around.
Now with the addition of SSU, we have the best of both worlds, a tech site AND a BS forum that always work, are fast, and are run by people who actually care about and own LS1-based cars and we all lived happily ever after, lol. [group hug here]

FWIW, I'm not one of the owners, I just work here.. PSJ and Nine Ball are the owners. Sure wish I was though, I could be building pro touring LS7 cars and 8/9 second turbo cars too

We were born out of LS1.com's lack of competence

Colonel got married, started a family, and is spending less time with car stuff. Things are going well for him, but I'm sure the cool weather makes his throttle foot itch sometimes. He still owns a Z28 and his drag car, just hasn't messed with them in a long time.

GOD I hope they find ways to keep this site running even after the gen III series is ancient history.
I'll never forget this place, with it I've built a whole network of friends, gotten some business experience, and learned so much about mechanical concepts.
LS1tech FTW ~Joshua
