hate to sound like a newb. But how do you get rid of the MAF, i thought it was necessary to keep the car running? Is it tuning it out? or is there something that replaces it?

You need tuning software, a wideband and a good understanding of what to change in the PCM. Then, you can get rid of the MAF and run the motor calculating fueling in a speed density mode. It's like the '93 and earlier f-bodies that had no MAFs. Usually, the people that see the most benefit from this are those that have enough boost to max out the MAF. Otherwise, there's no proven benefit other than removing a minor restriction in the intake. IMO, the ability of the MAF to better compensate for various conditions (weather and driving) is reason enough to keep it. Others are a little more of what I call trend followers....no offense michael.

the stock MAF will support 500+ HP will it not?
seems like that would be last on my list of things to adjust.

I bet thats' one nasty vet you got though michael. anyways good luck.

awesome knew about the whole speed density thing, just didn't know that you could switch a MAF'd car over to it. Thanks for the response though.
