NHRAFormula - I appologize, but we are unable at this time to make any carbon fiber products...there is a shortage of materials and it has become extremely difficult and costly to purchase the materials and supplies to do so.

can you guys @ vfn do custom stuff? Reson I ask.... is I am considering putting an edlebrock intake on my car.. and every pic I've seen requires the hood to be notched out for the elbow that sits on top of the intake... I don't want to go with a big height hood due to the visability issues it will cause (putting kirkey seats in and lowering them to the floor to keep my head away from rollbar) What I think I would need is a ws-6 stock style regular bolt on hood, but with the center back by the cowl slightly higher in that spot, maybe just not sunken in like the stock hood is, and that area of the hood hollow, and teh back lip sit a little back towards the windshield more.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to have asked this question...... lemme know.

I also need a custom 6" cowl hood bolt on for a 68 firebird. I actually called and talked to someone and they said they could make it no problem. Im ready to order so let me know a price please

JL - We are able to do some custom work, but I'm not sure if we would be able to modify our hood - sometimes this gets into more custom work then we are geared up to do...I'll check with our production manager and see what we can do for you.
9 Second - We can do this for you. Normal price on this would be $695.00 (which is the price of the hood, scoop and $180.00 for labor/materals)...with the ls1tech discount, the price would be $625.00.

I'm gonna try to pick up an edlebrock intake setup when I have some spare $.. and we will pull the hood and put it on and test it out... if it makes enough added power to be worth it, then the hood will be the next step.... I don't see me needign anything soon.

Actually, after looking at your stuff on your website... the 93-97 style hood would be perfect if it was only a 2 inch cowl instead of a 4 inch.. btu I'm not sure what it would look like on a 4th gen car... you wouldn't happen to have a pic of that style hood on a 4th gen would you, or will it not fit right?

JL - We make a 2" for the 98-02 Camaro, but I don't believe that we currently have a picture of this item on a car (sorry!). most of the pics we've recieved from customers were of the sunoco and the ss hoods....the earlier model will not work on the 4th gen....

I'm sorry but the GP discount has expired a while back. However, we still offer the 10% LS1Tech member discount to all members - this is an ongoing sale, so no experation date on this discount.
Ok...to everyone who asked for prices:

NHRAFORMULA00 - with the member discount, the price on the stock bolt on would be $360.00. We are required by the state to charge tax on customer pickups or customers who reside in Illinois - the tax on this hood would be $27.00. The weight on this hood is 22-25lbs.

01FireTurd - with the member discount, the price on the ws9 hood would be $625.00. If shipped, there would be a crating charge of $20.00 added to the price of the hood. freight charges are paid directly to the carrier upon receipt of your item and I would estimate freight around $90.00.

As a Z/28 owner, Im sooo glad you guys made the Sunocco hood! Didn't want to go w/ an SS scoop, and was thinking Ultra Z, but it didn't sit well with me. Good call to produce the Sunocco!

Slowz28 - you can either go with the extended wide version - which the extension can be cut down if needed, when you receive it....or the standard non extended narrow.
I would recommend picking up the item once finished at our location - we are 90 minutes south of Milwaukee. We do have to charge tax due to IL State rules, but it would definately save you money in freight charges - which generally cost between $90-$100.00 to a business or terminal location and between $140-$150.00 to a home location.

Dafaic - the front scoops can be opened upon request. There is no additional charge for this. It will work with your airbox, but there is no direct channel made into the hood to direct the air directly into the box.

Last question is the hood baffled to keep water from getting into the engine compartment if it's raining or will water flow in if your driving in the rain? If it's baffled does the hood have drain holes or a way for the water to remove it self without it getting into the compartment...Gotta love the opti...:)

i like this hood on Jaimie Stanton's old NMCA Pro Stock car. can you do this without the body line?

We can do a custom hood for you, but to remove the center line on a cowl is a bit more work then we are able to tackle at this point - sorry!
The closest we can come to it (without the line) would be this scoop I'll picture below. Going this route will probably limit you to a pin on hood only, as these scoops will hit the windshield. This particular scoop is 5" in height....
The price with the gp discount for this would be $600.00.

1insane - at this time, we do not offer a hood...we do have plans to produce a hood for the gto, but currently i don't have an estimate on a time frame for this item....we have had to push this behind a bit because of our current production....it maybe something we have available over the summer.

I picked up my 5" pin on hood that I ordered 5 weeks ago from VFN and it looks awesome. I got a tour of their facility and they do NOT have any room to keep inventory. They are packed wall to wall with all of the hoods they work on. It is amazing on how many hoods they can work on in the space they have.

Maybe when they get their new place they can have room to store some inventory. I don't know but the wait is definately worth it.

Jeanie is an awesome lady and does what she can to take care of their customers.

Sorry I didn't get back to everyone sooner, been pretty crazy around here.

Tainted...no problem. I checked on your order status, and there's about 3-4 weeks prior to completion. We will probably hit the full 8 weeks due to the amount of orders we currently have in the back (sorry!)

Smeshly and everyone else, I'll pm you pricing information....as much as I would love to let everyone in on the gp, we are so backed up in our production area, that prior to opening up another gp at this time, we really should hold off until we get caught up a little. I appologize for this, but as soon as we catch up a bit, we'll run another gp for everyone who missed out on this one.
