Gears & Axles - broken DS from last night

well, after running a personal best last night, my stock T/A shit the DS in about three pieces on a dead hook launch from 3k with STREET TIRES. i have no suspension work, still on stock 10 bolt with 3.42's, only mods are lid and cutout. how many of yall have broken the stock DS and how much hp were you putting down? i havent ever heard of anyone stock breaking the DS, and my mind is boggled as to why the rear didnt go first! im gonna pull the diff cover and the shifter so i can check for cracks and broken shit in the rear and on the tranny tailhousing when i get it home today...

You could cut it off even. Clean it up and use it as an ornamental coffee cup. lol

I am in the 10's here with the stocker. Around 550RWHP and 1.58 to 1.60 60's on e.t. streets.

twisting chassis will cause that. Get some subframes and LCAs.

Does anyone know what is the measurement in length for the stock DS?

guy that works for me broke his on street tires... h/c car, M6
now has the Strange 3 inch chromemoly with no problems...and only 295.00 complete balanced, ready to install.

a stock shaft is around 41- 1/2 inches center to center.

you better check you rear end usually when you break a drive shaft its because some thing in the rear locked up. I have seen a lot of people break a ring gear set and hurt the drive shaft and transmission.

Tires doesnt matter, its weight, power, and hook and BAM. as you noticed how thin it is and it has CARDBOARD IN IT!!

Gee thanks guys, now I have to worry about breaking the drive shaft too. :(
