Default Can i put a thermostate inline w/ cooler?

Just wondering if someone make a thermostate for a trans cooler. One the would have the same basic principle of an engine thermostate. Just seems like it would make sense to have one. Thanks.

Default Be careful

There must be fluid flowing through the cooler at all times.
The fluid returns to the lubrication circuit.

No flow, burnt transmission.

What you can get is a temperature sender.

There are coolers with thermostats. But these are
a bypass style just so coolant does always flow,
just not always through the exchanger.

Check out perma-cool, earls, and mocal for decent thermostats. I've pretty much settled on the perma-cool 1060 thermostat for my cooler installation.
