Oil pressure too high?
For some reason I'm thinking this is too high...if it is, any suggestions on what it might be? I'm prolly gonna do a complete tuneup this week anyway seeing as i just got it from the dealership and I never trust those guys :\
Also i made the mistake of filling it up with normal unleaded the other day but i doubt this would mess with the oil pressure?
Thanks!

I don't think it's anything to be overly concerned about. Mine looks more or less the same way. The important thing is that you build pressure with RPMs and you seem to be doing that just fine.

I'd be more concerned if it was pegg'n 80psi. Ive heard and read alot that LS1 engines run 'best' with 0w30, the oil the dealer put in there may be thicker than whats recomended for that motor. I use Mobil 1, try changing it to a 5w30 and see if that makes a change in oil pressure, with Mobil 1 my LS1 idles alittle below 40 when hot. Ive also seen better perf and mpg with 5w30

Your oil pressure looks good. Most race engines need at least 10 lbs per 1000 rpm's. I wouldn't be concerned unless you are over 100 lbs. It can start pushing oil through some of the seals at those pressures. I had a built SBC that would hold 100+ lbs over 5000 rpms. It pushed oil through seals and leaked when pressures were that high, but didn't leak at lower rpm's.

i wouldn't trust or believe the factory oil gauge.I'll bet you put a real gauge on there and its nothing near what you are seeing.Factory gauge=if it moves you;re probably ok,thats about it.

I just replaced my oil pressure sending unit and now my oil pressure reads higher too.
Mine is 40 at idle, 55ish while crusing and builds with RPMs at WOT. I think everything is fine. Previously (same oil) my car would cruise at 40, idle at 30, and build with RPM at WOT. Maybe my new unit is more accurate, I hope anyway.

I'm not sure if it's the same on f-bodies or not, but on the C5's, one of the more common problems is the oil pressure sending unit going bad.

Looks fine to me....At least I would think so, being my gauge reads exactly like yours...In fact I have NEVER seen the oil pressure drop below that 60 area even at an idle on a hot day. Basically mine is ussually right in between the 60 and 80.
