Default Is it necessary to pin the crank when using the ATI dampner??

I have the 8 rib ATI dampner and pulley for my D1SC that I'm installing this weekend... Is it absolutely necessary to pin the crank with this one or can I do it a little down the road??

I wouldn't chance it, the balncer bolt can back out and allow the balancer to slip off, or worse, damage the front of your crank. I would recommend pinning the balancer with any belt driven forced induction.

Get it pinned while you are there. Bob @ EPP sells the pin kit.

Pin it and be done with it. Your crank can easily spin on any power over stock (under the right conditions).

Most kits give you a guide to assist in drilling the hole on center. If you buy the kit or borrow one, it shouldn't give you a problem.
