Stereo & Electronics - Grrr, hardwireing my radar detector and having some problems

Alright, I hardwired my radar detector, I spliced into the yellow wire from my headunit, and the black wire, and now the things on 100% of the time, not switched with the ignition, but powered all the time, what did I do wrong?

You should have wired it to the red wire. The yellow wire is constant the red is switched.
