Default Building an LQ4...

Have a chance to get my hands on a complete longblock LQ4... I'd have the guy i'm buying it from build it up... now my question is... what parts should i have him build it with... just want to get a list of other parts and stuff to get so it can handle 750 rwhp all day with twin 60's.....

Pistons.....? (-15 diamonds?)

Rods...? (Scat H-beams?)

ARP mains, rod bolts, and head studs???

What else should i look into getting for this LQ4? Thanks!

Just need some info as to what all parts to add to a stock LQ4 to have it handle boost safely up to 750 ish rwhp.... Thanks!

budget crank = Eagle. If you want to spend a little more you can do Lunati.
Eagle rods are the most common used IMO. ARP rod bolts, ARP main studs, good pistons; we usually use Wiseco. Speed Pro Hellfire rings. ARP head studs. Obviously a good machine shop is needed.

yes, ok thanks Billy... The LQ4 IS the 364 ish CI motor that most people forge into a 370 iron correct? It should also have the 317 6.0L heads as well correct?

I'm building one at the moment, it has a 4" Eagle crank, Eagle H beam rods, CP turbo pistons and ported #317 heads with stainless valves. Hoping to make around 700rwhp at the wheels with a turbo or t/turbos. Haven't quite decided which way to go yet.

PM any number of the sponsors... HPE and Texas Speed came highly recommended and were both very knowledgable... I went with HPE because Erik told me about their LS1 builds in great, great detail without me even asking. That and their price was very competitive.

I think your build is only going to be as good as the people building it. Also, don't spend money on places you don't have to... in other words, don't overbuild. Erik was all about me getting the most for my money when selecting parts and was honest when comparing one part vs another part and whether or not I really needed the upgrade.

Hope that helps!
