obtaining 11s........
With my current mods I think my car is capable of 12s. I was wondering what some of your thoughts were towards having an 11 second N/A daily driver car. Would it be possible?
My current mods are listed in my sig. I wanted to keep the stock heads, and I'm hoping with an upgraded valvetrain, gears, and of course drag radials I'll be close to 11s. I drive my car just about everyday and I don't want to sacrifice reliability, so does this sound realistic?
I did some research on cams, and I was leaning towards the TSP Torquer v.2, but I wasn't sure if that would be too big a cam for daily driving. I also was checking out some Comp Cams and found the 275Xtreme RPM seemed to work well. I know cam selection is very complicated and can be a long process, so I definetely don't want to throw in a huge cam just because it sounds choppy at idle.
If anybody out there has an 11 second daily driver, let me know how you like your cam. Thanks a lot!!

You really only need 3 big mods for an M6. 12 bolt rear end, a stout clutch, and a serious driveshaft. Drop some weight, do the standard lid/headers/exhaust, and you'll be very close. A cam will put you over the top (my car went 11.85 with a B1 cam - 221/221 .556/.556 114LSA). The way to get it is to drive it like you stole it. Seriously. On a stock motor, bounce that sucker off the rev limiter to launch it (assuming sticky tires). That's why you need the 12-bolt and clutch/driveshaft. Don't fear the gear. 4.30's or 4.56's are GREAT in a 6 speed.
Walk down the dark path... 4.56's are very, very fun.

All you need is a Ls6 manifold, Ford 9" ( preferrable 4.11s) and Slicks. WIth all those you should be able to be 11.99s! without gears you may be 12 flats. But the tires are a must for a quick time. But you need a rearend also if you are gonna launch that high. So with slicks and a rearend and gears you should be able to accomplish 12 flats, thats why I said 11.99.
because without the rearend, or slicks, or the shifter and on a stock fried clutch and I dont have the bigger MAF, but I have an LS6 intake manifold. and LT and ORY with LM. I run 8.07 in the 1/8 and that is 12.5s in the 1/4 with a 1.89 60'
thats why with slicks if you can cut your 60 to a 1.7 you should be able to be right on the dot of 12. and if you powershift. 11.99 is accomplishable.

OK, Thanks for the help....... Now for a decent street cam, How about the TSP torquer V2, is it too big for daily driving? I also plan on changing valve springs, pushrods, rockers at the same time.
I want to make sure the car stays reliable, but I also want as much peformance as possible. I guess it's hard to have both!!
Thanks Again
