Default Extra Key

I have 1 set of keys for my car, if I buy another set on EBAY is there any way I can program it on my own or is it a must that I go to the dealer?

Thanks

You mean the remote? As long as it's the right one you can program it yourself.

Key fob can be re-programmed as mentioned above, but the keys have to be cut to match your car and the ignition key must have the correct resistor chip for the VATS system to let the car start.

I just bought extra key for my car at the local dealer and the cost me about 27$ for both the ignition and door. As far as the remote make sure they have teh same partnumber on the back and they will work.

I know about the fob, that is a peice of cake...Was wondering about the actual ignition key. I know with my explorer, all I need are 2 sets of keys and I can program the 3rd. Was wondering if it was the same for our cars.

But $27 sounds good to me, i'll have to call a few dealerships
