Default Help! Supercharger Newbie with a few questions.

Okay, guys. I have a question for you. I am a complete newbie to the forced induction route, and I am interested in putting a supercharger in my 1993 Trans Am. I know the compression is too high in my car right now, (about 11:1) to keep it running on pump gas with a blower. (At least I think so )Could I just buy a set of heads that have larger combustion chambers to decrease the compression? Do they make a 76cc for an LT1? The reason I'm asking is because I don't want to tear my 383 motor down again. I just had it built, and now I have the bug to make it faster yet. I didn't have enough money at the time to build it specifically for supercharging, so I built it as well as I could for natural aspiration. I should've though ahead, but I didn't think I would ever be interested in FI. Boy, was I wrong! Here's a list of what I've done to the motor and car:

Walbro fuel pump installed
3.73 gears installed
transgo shift kit installed
2500-3000 stall torque converter installed
58mm throttle body prepared and installed
Pacesetter long tube headers installed

Engine Specs:
Block machine work:

Parts:
Eagle internal balance 3.75 stroke crankshaft
Scat 4340 forged I-Beam connecting rods with 7/16 capscrew bolts
Keith black -7cc pistons
Clevite 77 rod and main bearings
Hastings Moly rings
Rotating assembly race balanced within .1 gram (internal front and back)
INTERNAL BALANCED FLEXPLATE
SFI APPROVED FLUID DAMPER
Melling HV oil pump
new oil pump drive
Custom ground hyd. roller camshaft: 230/236@.050 lift 575/585 with 1.6 rockers 112 lsa
1.6 aluminum full roller rocker arms
New pushrods
Comp cams high performance hyd. roller lifters -
cloyes timing set
NEW early timing cover
Fel-Pro Gaskets

Heads:
ORIGINAL lt1 reverse flow aluminum heads
Cleaned
ported/polished/ gasket matched - 40 hours
combustion chambers polished
intake valve unshrouded
valve seats machined three angles
NEW valves - undercut for improved flow
.600 lift valve springs
NEW keepers
FELPRO Head Bolts
POLISHED ALUMINUM BALL MILL VALVE COVERS

Intake:

ported for a dual 58mm throttle body
42lb injectors installed
EGR BLOCKED OFF
AIR REMOVED

other:
PCM "PIGGYBACK" chip burned
MOATES Chip adapter
bosch platinum 2 plugs installed
msd wires

Also, what brand of supercharger do you recommend, and where do you think I should buy it from to get the best deal? Thanks a lot guys, I know newbies can be a pain in the *** sometimes, but you would really help me out. If there is any other parts that need to be changed to be compatible with a blower, let me know. Thanks everyone!

The 11:1 ratio can be used with an ATI ProCharger with premium fuel, provided you aren't looking for boosting about 7 to 8 psi. You can go higher if you add a methanol kit to it. You can indeed lower the compression ratio by swapping to a set of cylinder heads with a larger cc.
I would go with an ATI ProCharger D-1SC, pn# 1GA212-D1SC. Give me a call at 260 244-4808 for a price lower than I can put into print. Thanks! Bob
