Default if i bent the valves....

ok i just rebilt the motor and put a new cam in it and im just paranoid that we may have thought it cleared piston to valve but really didnt. with the heads on they turned the crank by hand with no problem. they told me if there was interference then they wouldnt have been able to turn it by hand being metal to metal. im just afraid they just slightly didnt clear and the valves bent a little to accomidate the the cam (237/242). the car is too loud realy for me to hear whats going on up there but with the hood popped at idle it sounds like everything fine. what would the car be doing to let me know if they are bent. its running bad but i think that could be b/c its still waiting to be tuned. car has 800miles on the rebuild. what can i look/listen for?

You'd have to pull the heads to check if the valves are bent without having other symptoms like crappy performance (not due to the tune), backfiring, etc.

do a compression check should be within 15% of each other 165 pouns is about normal on a stocker. You will also have premature valvefloat and bent pushrods. the will bend before the valve if they are stock if not stock just premature valve float and backfiring
