Not sure on the loudness, but look elsewhere if you want a more high flowing exhaust.

I love the sound of my Hooker muffler. LS1sounds is a good site to listen to ALOT of different exhaust set-ups.

I personally wouldn't go with Flowmaster on these cars.

im pretty sure the 40 series is the loudest/ most aggressive. there are two different 40s, ones supposed to have less enterior resonance. it is true though, although they sound fantastic, chokemasters are not that great for making power. whats the solution? get a cut out and enjoy the best of both worlds.

There is only one FM muffler catback for the F bod. The 80 series is the only crossflow one they have. It isn't loud at all. With the stock manifolds and cats on I could barely hear mine.

Stay away from the 80-series; they flow like crap (search for a thread where someone picked up well over 15rwhp switching to a cutout). You're good to go on the 40s though.

The American Thunder is louder I believe. On Flowmasters, the lower the series, the louder they get. Stay away from the 80-series.

You can't in the stock location. Like I said in my post above^^ the only one that'll work is the 80 unless your making a custom true dual setup or some other custom setup.

I ran a single 40-series 2-chamber on my '98 T/A. Just ran dual tailpipes off of it.

Forget the catback and go true-duals/x-pipe/single chamber flows

This is a botched run, but you can hear the exhaust pretty good

Although, at one time, I had the 80 series flowmaster american thunder catback on my car along with the SLP y-pipe and it wasn't much louder than it was when it was stock. I noticed no difference in power at all. However i put this same catback on my uncle's LT1 Z28 (!cats) and it is loud! Almost as loud as my true dual setup suprisingly.

weird. flowmaster is one of the louder catbacks. you may have had a clogged cat or something the 80 series was pretty darn loud on my old V6 firebird.
