Default Well, IT HAS BEGUN!!!

Pics Index! (Based on 20 post per page setting)
Pg. 1 - 10pt Cage build, disassembly
Pg. 2 - Pistons, Fuel, Intake Elbow, misc.
Pg. 3 - None
Pg. 4 - Powdercoated parts
Pg. 5 - Body work + OFI Hot parts and S85
Pg. 6 - Paint stg 1 and Powdercoated/Jethot parts
Pg. 7 - Paint stg 2 .... NEW (06/11/07) Paint/Body done!! Remainder of OFI kits arrived!! New Carpet and pics of the paint/body work.

This is only the fist step. Well, i guess the first step is getting off my **** and committing to the financial obligation of actually building the car of my dreams.

Anyways, perviously, this was a 408ci, nos-app. witha 4l65e, 3600ss car. True street! I usually racked about 200-300miles a week in this car. (thats miami for ya!!)

Needed a cage even then but never got around since the car was never a 100%. Ferrea springs issue, ls1 manifold on a 408ci issues.. etc. Well, the car went to michigan, drove her up there with my pops, great time by the way. And she is getting the finishing touches at V.R.E.

Here are some pics of the cage that was just put it, had it speced to my height, etc. I wanted to huge the panels as much as possible, but since these pics dont have them in, only time will tell. HOWEVER, remember that feeling when we were young pups and woke up to gifts on christmas morning... well, that is me right now!! REally happy the way it came out and will even better when i get her painted.

Specs: 10pt Stenod Performance chromoly bars, with net support...and of-course welded. Seats of Corbeau FX1's black with their custom brackets. You can slide them but im looking into upgrading the brackets so i can use the stock power ones and have some adjust in them.

Well, with any more delays... here are the pics. Thank and enjoy!! Would like to thank Eric V.R.E. for really helping me get this car underway... and putting up with my shinanigans. Also big thanks for the people at Stenod, guys came through big, nice work!!! I acutally had no idea it was gonna get done by ya'll until it was done. Thanks mang(s)!!

Before:

After :

Here is a quick pic of what the car looks like now....

thanks again. She will be a true streetcar, making solid power.. next, well, its on order so we're all gonna have to wait and see!

LaterZ!
Angel

please put on a stock ss hood and sell that to someone else. Your car has hit the point that the goofy aftermarket hood just takes away from the cage it really needs a diff hood though

Wow. Looks good.

I didn't know Victory Racing Engines was a sponsor on LS1Tech, now. Congrats to Nick D.

toonz... thanks bra!! Cage looks great. I will say that i was a bit worried about the way it would turnout, not in craftmanship, but speciafically, how well the bars would huge the panels. I will say that im very pleased and some.

VRE has been good to me. I, originally, bought the 408 with APE, before the issues, and i haven't had any issues with it. To each is own, they have been nothing but good people with me.

Im not sure how much, actually, the cage weighs... maybe toonz can help. Its chromoly so it should be down a bit. As for the price, to be honest, really cannot remember EXACTLY but let me go through me statements. IT wasn't as much as i thought it would be. Call stenod, they can help you out.

UPDATE:

Motor is out and torn apart. Waitn to get the new diamonds in and we are ready to rock!!! Question, what do ya'll think i should do with the cage paint? Glossy black or color matched to the car?

anyways, also got some quick pics of the window net installed and of the motor drop or removal since the shop was brave and went through the top!!

LaterZ!

as you can see, my back wasn't much of anything to begin with!! No need to cry worry about it now... I'm finishing up on m design for a custom enclosure, fiberglassed and with drawer/storage type box for misc crap that i like to keep around like GMHTP mags.. maybe somewhere to hold my helmet, suit, gloves etc.

right, most of the time when you see a cage its more or less a race car and there is no heater box.

I always liked that SLP hood, gives the car a different look alltogether. But like any deviation from stock some people will like it and some will hate it

I've only heard good things about the engines out of Victory Racing, I'm 99% I'm going to use them. Please PM if you have some information that I should consider.

Obzidian the car looks like its coming along well. What are your plans for it? A street car, race car, or somewhere in between?

Yeah I didn't even see this thread when it was new....

That cage looks sick!! Hopefully the rest of this project will go as well for ya. I know that if I could do things over again as far as what I have, I would have done them alot differently. Good luck.
