There is a thread about this somewhere.. Searches can be a bitch. Think they concluded that it wouldn't work, or someone tried it and said it wouldn't work.

Looking at this construction pic of my car, I'm thinking that it would negate the need to relocate the alternator but would it make it hard to run intercooler piping?

I believe those are facing forward. I am thinking about turning them upside down so that the exhaust is routed up and not down or forward.
thanks

you have a point, one thing I need to mention I have the VFN 4inch cowl hood. maybe that would give me more room. I dunno I think I will get a set and start seeing what I can come up with. at least maybe just keep the drivers side one and then having someone fab up a passenger side manifold or use a stock manifold the correct way and having somesort of crossover pipe. so many decisions.

The Truck Manifold Sticky has a ton of pics, should help you figure out what you want to do.

Someone is selling a custom LSx turbo kit on www.motownmuscle.com right now, it was made for an RX7. It has the upswept header design you are talking about. The kit is on page 2 of their classifieds.

Truck manifolds flipped upside down will hit the shock towers on the LS1 F body.

Only one way to run em, backwards and without a/c...

yup that was one of the first things i tried when i got mine, upside down and forward, they wouldnt fit cause they hit the shock towers, i suppose if you did some clearancing alot of it, then maybe.

and they wont fit running backwards (pointing to the back) cause they hit the firewall.
