Hot Wire kit for fuel pump.
alright... i could care less how pretty it is... can i fab up my own hot wire kit??? all it is in a nutshell is a wire that runs directly from the alternator to the power lead on the fuel pump to supply more than 12 volts correct? im sure it also provides a better ground?
i need some extra fuel pressure for a big race this weekend so i can put in the bigger jets. whats the easiest way to do this???? anybody have any ideas?

buy one from somebody - there's more to it than that - a wire runs from the alternator to a relay. the relay is connected to the pump power source on the factory harness (this now becomes the signal wire to trip the relay). another wire comes out of the relay and connects to the the pump. there are a couple of other wires that need to pass through from the pump to the factory wiring as well - i think they may be the fuel level sender or something like that. i never studied the internal pump wiring that closely to figure out what was what...i just followed the directions with the kit.
this prevents the pump from being run when you don't want it to. the alternator can stay charged for a minute or two after the car is shut off.
