Default Intake Manifold Advice Wanted

I recently won a used fast 78 intake manifold on ebay, but have not yet put it on my car. I will be installing a cam & heads within the next month or two and I want everyones advice on what to do for an intake manifold. I'm still a little undecided on the cam, but it will be somewhere from a tr224 to a torquer v3 size. My heads will either be cnc ported ls6 heads or ported 5.3 heads. My car is not driven much, but I want a fast street car which can also hold its own at the strip. I know that I can sell my ls6 for about 300 and the fast 78 for about 500 so that could get me a fast 90 intake so all I would need to buy is a throttle body.

I am concerned about ditching the ls6 and fast 78 in favor of the fast 90 because I want good power under the curve...not just 5000 rpm+.

What would you do and why? See my mods listed below (also note that I already have a true 78mm throttle body I got off ebay)

with that small of a cam and with those heads, your not going to get the power of the 90/90 like you would with a bigger cam, so its not really worth the money....port the 78 and be happy....use the money on other supporting mods

If I'm not mistaken, the Fast 78 intake is pretty much the same as an LS6 intake, so you aren't really going to see any additional benefits over the LS6. Sell em both and get the 90/90...

Well since you already have the FAST 78, I'd port it and sell the LS6.

The 90mm shows significant gains from off-idle to redline on the dynographs I've seen.

No need to go big unless your engine calls for it (stroked, etc...) it has been proven on smaller setups the 90/90 will show loss of horsepower (insignifigant) but still not worth wasting money.

Due to the limited responses & wildly varying opinions I decided to self port my fast 78 which I am now in the process of.

Mostly I am just cleaning up the rough edges and sanding down the casting marks rather than hogging out material. I wouldn't expect more than 5 extra hp out of my hard work, but it gives me something to do during this crappy weather around here.

Thanks to all who responded.

BTW if anyone wants an slp ls6 intake (non egr) with a decent self ported stock throttle body (off my 99) for $350 shipped then let me know ASAP as it will go on ebay very soon.
