Question Am I wasting my money?

I want to upgrade my cam - currently stock - but can't afford to do the heads just yet. Am I wasting my money if I don't do both at the same time?

I don't plan to track the car much but want a little more low end response for the street. The car is a daily driver.

there are plenty of cam only cars out there. you can find many grinds that will work on stock heads, but you need a full exhaust to help it breath and usually an LS6 intake. but i see you already have the full exhaust. however if you plan on doing heads soon i would wait and do the heads and cam at the same time. you can get a better power gain with a cam matched to the heads you plan to buy.

Lots of high HP cam only cars out there. Hardly a waste of time in my book.

As stated, the cam won't be a waste of time. It is actually one of the biggest "bang for your buck" mods out there...provided you don't have to pay out the *** for installation.

Not a waste at all. Dont forget about a converter to match the cam.

Go for it. There are plenty of cams that match up well with stock heads. Maybe look at getting something bigger now (that would work with stock heads) but also take advantage of ported heads. Make sure...as stated that you have a converter that could keep up.

I have a 230/236 .592 .602 112 lsa cam.....something along those lines would still be good with stock heads but would also be able to take advantage of aftermarket heads when you get them.

Hope all the info that you have gotten in this thread helps!
