Default Tranny fluid all gone, won't shift 3rd to 4th

I was coming home from the track (best et yet 12.3 @ 117 on 75 shot),
well I got on the highway and a ways down the SES light comes on and the car won't shift into overdrive, the shifter was on OD, but the car stayed in 3rd, it drove fine, just wouldn't shift.
when I got home I checked the fluid and it was almost bone dry!
Did I just **** up my transmission, and where did all the fluid go?
I don't see any leaks in my driveway, so where do I check?

thanks

Long story short:

ran best ET, fucked up tranny.

Are you using the trans cooler in the radiator on your car? I have seen trans oil in the coolant and vise versa. Take a look in your radiator for signs of trans fluid.

I topped it off, drove it and it drives fine now, shifts well,
I looked underneath and it looks like the trannsmission fluid pan is where the leak is, everywhere above it was clean but the pan and it's bolts on one side had fluild on them.
