well my 99 m6 ta has a bent pushrod in cylinder 6 so i bought comp 5\16 mangnum 7.400s for my car. i think i can do it but should i take it to a shop and pay 150 for the install or do it my self!

It is really easy. You will be able to do it in no time. Just take the coil packs off, then valve covers, and then rockers and that's it change the pushrods.

yea, it is very easy. it shouldn't take you more then 1 to 2 hours total to have it all back together.

Also it's a good time to change plugs.

exactly. its a lot easier to turn the motor over by hand (for proper torque on the rocker arm bolts) w/ the spark plugs out, so you might as well put some new ones in.

i change my plugs and wires about a month or two ago im goin to try it on my own i have all the right tools im goin to let the car cool over night and do it in the morning

Put a fan on that aluminum block and you can take the cam out an hour later practically.

Yep, forced convection is great isn't it?

And you should atleast try the pushrod install yourself. No way I would pay a shop $150 to install pushrods.

Don't forget, torque the rockers to 22 ft lbs, turn the engine from the crank bolt 1/2 a turn and retorque. Other than that it's all been 'splained to ya.

It took me about 1 1/2 hr to change rockers the last time I did it. But I had just done 2 camshaft swaps and 3 Rocker changes in the last 2 months. It is easier to do once you leave out the back coilpack bracket bolts off. I think most of the time is spent getting those on and off. First time around figure on 3 - 3 1/2 hours since you are not familiar with the process and you want to take the time to do it right.

This guide will give you a step by step of the process except you will not have to take the rocker stand bracket off.

Wear leather mechanics gloves and you can work on it immediately, except for maybe touching the headers for the first 10 minutes... And if teh coolant spills, its gonna be hot.
