Okay so I'm looking for an LS2 for my swap the plan is to take the motor and go the through it before the swap I was planning on putting some ARP rod bolts and forged pistons. The question really is the heads I know they are essentially LS6 heads a good head to be sure but should I have them at the very least worked CNC'd etc or should I do some aftermarket? Maybe AFR's, Darts, Edelbrocks, or should I do a L92 set up? All opinions will be appreciated.

Oh and of course I gonna do a cam swap also I would like to make 500/500 at the fly so about 400/400 at the wheels.

L92 setup will flow just as well as any of the aftermarket heads will, and its cheaper. you will have to buy the L92 specific intake manifold also but thats no big deal. if your goal is only 400 at the crank you're underestimating the project BIG TIME. what kind of drivetrain is going behing this thing?

I'm actually looking to get at least 500 at the fly. It'll be M6 with an 8.5" hung on a triangulated 4-link.

8.5"? why? 500 at the flywheel with a heads/cam LSx motor is NOTHING...

8.5" rear because I got one cheap and it'll be plenty for the set up. I know 500hp is easy for an LSx but the question remains should I work the stock LS6 heads or should I do something else.

the LS6 heads OR any other ported LSX style head will make 500 at the crank with port work and a good cam.

ETP heads the best out there? you can't be serious... a STOCK L92 head flows just as well as or better than their cathedral port heads.
