Default Fuel tank leaking?

Anyone know why fuel would be pouring out of the gas tank when its overfilled? Right after I filled it up I poured a whole bunch while taking a right turn and while filling up at the gas station?? None has poured out since...

Gas cap might not have been on right? I've did that before. Sometimes they screw on crooked.

Is it coming from the tank or the gas cap?

lol! too much gas is a possibility but this was while I was pumping and while I was driving... It was showing up on the drivers and pass side near the rear wheels.

Anyone ever change your fuel pump? Where the sending unit/pump assembly goes back into the tank could be loose.

Update:

Today I filled my car till the pump shut off, it took 19 gallons?

Every turn I took I saw some pour out... Right turn, left turns, hard starts/ stops you name it. Where in the world is it leaking from?

It really sounds like it's coming out from where the pump/sending unit assembly go in at the top of the tank. You'd probably have to drop the tank to check it.

These cars have 16.8 gallon tanks. If you've got that much fuel laying around under the car, be careful (where did the rest of the 19 gallons go?). One spark (and this is the season for static) and you could have a real issue. I'd get very serious about finding this very quickly.

Be safe.
