Video of me measuring db level in my TA
Used a RadioShack sound level meter, just to see roughly where i was at. Did about 109-110db peak. Started with it set in the 90 range, then upped it to 100 range, then 110db range. [[Using that meter the "0" is in the center so when the needle is in the center that would represent "100db" (or whichever range you are set it) left of center is less, right of center = more. ]] the vid is crappy cause is was getting dark but you get the idea. also sq is crappy in the vid but nice in real life, my digital camera mic is messed up.

I agree there may be some better meters out there, but it gets the job done for the price. As far as the db level, i think WHERE you place the meter is more important then which meter you use. If you put it right in front of the speaker, naturally its gonna be higher, and vice versa, furthest from the speakers would be less. i Think in competition they place the mic at least 16" from any reflective surface, so getting it in the free air space is key.
