Default Performabuilt 4,000 stall installed

I have a 2002 Z28, Slowhawk from Dez Racing installed a 4,000 Peformabuilt stall (custom built a bit) with a few other toys. The car is so much quicker. It feels like my old Camaro SS when it had a cam.

We got it to lock up driving around at 39 to 40 mph (this is in D, not OD). This was all tuned around a 2.73 10 bolt. We are going to get a 3.42 10 bolt and we think we can get it to lock up/drive even better.

Oh and as expected the tires blow themselves off the car. I installed Kooks, Kook cat'd y-pipe, plugs, lid n filter and had the car tuned. My Magnaflow, gauges n pod and all kinds of other stuff didnt show up so there is a little more left to be installed. With the cats the car is damn quiet no one suspects a thing until you roll into it and the harder you get into it the more the tires light up. It's funny, even when your on it you can have the windows down at 6,000 rpm and it's still not loud. People think the car is really that quick stock haha.

Performabuilt so far rocks from my experience. Makes you want to go N/A, get a decent cam and install a 5,000 stall. These things are wicked fun.

I am pretty picky when it comes to driveability. Just last year I moved out of South Boston (spent 23 years there, I'm 24) so I always drove my car in the city, I'm talking 5 - 15 mph traffic and this stall would be fine in the city. I'd very much prefer this setup over a clutch/cam setup.

I feel it's tight enough with 2.73 gears. I'm going with with 3.42's, maybe 3.73's and everyone is telling me it will drive better, slip less, lock up sooner and overall feel easier to drive. If it's gets much easier than this it's going to be pretty damn impressive.

It's not even close to how the general public perceives it.

I'll post up again when I get the new gears.

ugh my bad, I dont check the auto section much, I'm so used to having an m6.

The car was at least dyno'd (Kook 1 3/4 race headers, catted y-pipe, Magnaflow exhaust, SLP lid/filter, 160 t-stat and a 4000stall).

I havent had much time to drive the car, work has been busy and the deal I had on the 3.42 rear fell through. All of the local tracks are closed around me so there is nothing there to report. Without the right gear I dont have the interest in going to the track anyhow.

So far so good though, the stall still surprises me. I would of gone auto in my first f-body if I knew it would be like this.

Oh yea, it's been pretty cold up here but the tranny doesnt really heat up. When floored it gets to 150 to 160 but that's it and that was before the tranny cooler mind you (which has been installed).

do you have any track times with that setup. Im wondering what the difference will be when you go to 3.42s with that 4000 stall
