yes the 4.3L is the L99 aka The "baby" LT1. They look identical to an LT1. Have to check the block casting to tell difference or remove head and do some measuring of the bore.

http://www.akmcables.com/l99.htm

There's a 4.3 L99 motor going in to my 94Z. Bolted right in. It put down 203 rwhp on the dyno (at 10:1 afr, yeah, needed tuning).

It's now sitting on an engine stand. I'd sell it if anyone wanted it. Cheap.

So it's a corvette block with normal cast iron heads and so forth, just less bore? Or is the crank stroked different? If so, making a LT1 destroker for higher RPM would be cool!

It's a small stroke small bore motor. Yes, you could use the crank to make a destroked 'normal' LT1.

3.750" bore x 3.00" stroke 5.94" rod

That'd make one hell of a reving motor at bigger bore!

lol Well true, you'd have to change it up to have the rev limiter raised. Low stroke = revs though. That's why Ferrai, Lambo, etc, use 10 and 12cyl 5.x L motors instead of making power the old fashion way like we do

I kinda want a baby-LT1 now just for the block and lower end!

actually no. You're going to have to go to aftermarket fuel management, unless you consider 7200rpm a high-revving motor....

Well I can chip mine over 9K RPMs, but it's a 93 so, probably the difference Sucks for you MAFs! lol For a stock motor, yes 7200 is high-reving.

The Vette's are the only ones with 4-bolt Mains. The 4.3 is no where near a Vette motor, doesn't have the bore. The L99 could be built to be powerful, we have built de-stroked 327's that went to 8000+RPM's
