Default How much compression

How much compression can you run with C12 fuel, forged internal, lets say 10lbs of boost, air to water intercooler? Is 11.1 too much or is this possible? pt88 turbo.

11.1 Because this car is currently a N2o car and I really don't want to change the forged pistons that are already there. What are the stock combustion chambers on a stock ls1 head, These heads are stock but have extensive work done to them by Shaner. I have considered heads with a larger comb. chamber and a thicker head gasket. How much comp. could I drop? by doing this. I don't know gasket thickness but chambers are stock now. Thanks for all the replys and input o my questions.

I seen your car on the truck manifold build up looks great. What size pipe are you using for your exhaust pipe and what size would be best for a pt88 I know that space is limited but I do have all tubular arms and subframe I'm guessing the bigger the better to keep down on any back pressure. But that is why I am asking because you have done it and I am just getting started with this project. I am going to take pictures as i go so you can use them for others Your pics really help.

2.5 up pipe to the turbo, then full 4" downpipe, then a 4" bullet muffler exiting near the rear tire, then for street mode it will taper from there to a 3" pipe (connected by vband clamps) over the axel then to the catback.

if i were you id definatly try and drop your compression ratio your engine and turbo will thank you .

Which set of heads offer a larger combustion chamber and if I ran the thickest head gasket for a turbo application how much comp. do you think I could drop. I have heard that there are some GMPP heads now for ls1 that flow like 3-- straight out of the box. for like 8or9 hundred a pair. I have'nt checked into this yet but if you have any recomendations let me know. Thanks again

If you run straight C16 then you could run a turbo with it. Alot of the import teams are now running high CR with boost to help the lag problem.

C12 is like 114 octane right, I don't have VP's site open right now.

Right now you are saying, can you run 10psi with 11:1 compression, with race gas. Sure. See what happens. I think once you start running less than 15 degrees of timing at WOT you're bumping up against the limits. Remember stock timing is like 25-27.
