Default Lbs of boost same as PSI?

Are "lbs of boost" and "psi" the same thing when talking about forced induction? If my engine is running 6lbs of boost, is actually like 12psi, or is it 6psi?

Thank you

Dont forget, PSI or boost is a measure of restriction, not how much power your turbo makes
